Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our beer rating system
Device & Sharing
Can I use the rating system on multiple devices?
No, the rating system is session-based and tied to a single device. Your ratings and notes will only be available on the device where you started rating beers.
Can I share my ratings with friends?
You cannot directly share your personal ratings between devices or accounts. However, you can show your friends your ratings on your device, or they can start their own rating session on their device.
What if I switch phones during the festival?
Your ratings won't transfer to a new device. We recommend sticking with one device throughout the festival, or using the paper programme if you prefer.
How It Works
How long do my ratings last?
Your ratings and tasting notes are stored until the end of the festival. After the festival concludes, all session data is automatically cleared.
Do I need to create an account?
No account required! The system works anonymously using your browser session. Simply start rating beers and your preferences will be remembered throughout the festival.
What if I close my browser?
Your ratings should still be there when you reopen the website on the same device, as long as it's during the festival period and your browser hasn't cleared its data.
Rating Features
Can I change my rating after I've submitted it?
Yes! You can update your star rating and tasting notes at any time during the festival by clicking on a beer you've already rated.
What does "Hide Tried Beers" do?
This filter hides beers you've already rated, making it easier to find new beers to try. Note: This feature is experimental and may not work perfectly depending on your device settings.
Can other people see my individual ratings?
No, your individual ratings are private to your device. However, anonymous aggregated data may be shared with breweries to help them understand how their beers performed.
Technical Issues
My ratings disappeared - what happened?
This can happen if your browser data was cleared, you're using incognito/private mode, or there are cookie restrictions. Try refreshing the page, or use the paper programme instead.
The website isn't working properly on my phone
Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. If problems persist, paper programmes are available at the bar with all the same beer information.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes, you need an internet connection to view the live beer list and submit ratings. The paper programme works without any technology requirements.
Alternative Options
What if I don't want to use the digital system?
Paper programmes are available at the bar with all beer information, descriptions, and space for your own notes. No technology required!
Can I use both the digital system and paper programme?
Absolutely! Many visitors use the digital system for quick reference and the paper programme as a backup or souvenir to take home.
